Kunyit untuk Penangkal Alzheimer

Kunyit tak sekedar bahan bumbu masakan, pewarna makanan, minuman atau kosmetik saja. Tapi kunyit juga bermanfaat untuk kesehatan tubuh karena bisa menangkal Alzheimer atau penyakit penurunan fungsi saraf otak atau kepikunan.
Kunyit dikenal dengan nama latin Curcuma Domestica, yang merupakan tanaman obat asli dari Asia Tenggara yang tumbuh baik di Indonesia.
Dikutip dari chinese-school-netfirms.com, Senin (29/6/2009) senyawa kimia utama yang terkandung dalam rimpang kunyit adalah minyak atsiri dan kurkumi-noid. 
Minyak atsiri dalam kunyit mengandung senyawa seskuiterpen alkohol, tur-meron dan zingiberen. Sedangkan kurkuminoid mengandung senyawa kurkumin dan turunannya (berwarna kuning) yang meliputi desmetoksi-kurkumin dan bidesmetoksikurkumin. Selain itu kunyit juga mengandung senyawa gom, lemak, protein, kalsium, fosfor dan besi.
Kunyit sangat bermanfaat sebagai antikoagulan, menurunkan tekanan darah, obat cacing, obat asma, penambah darah, obat sakit perut, diare, usus buntu dan rematik. Selain berkhasiat sebagai kesehatan, kunyit bisa juga dicampur dalam campuran bakterisida, fungisida dan stimulan.
Selain itu, kunyit juga bermanfaat sebagai penguat daya ingat (anti alzheimer). Hasil penelitian Dr. Tze-Pin Ng dari Universitas Nasional Singapura (NUS) menunjukkan bahwa manula yang rajin mengkonsumsi bumbu kare memiliki daya ingat yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan mereka yang tidak mengkonsumsi sama sekali.
Rahasianya ada pada zat pewarna kuning (kurkumin) yang terdapat pada rimpang kunyit. Kurkumin pada kunyit memiliki fungsi yang sangat penting dalam mengobati berbagai penyakit, karena senyawa tersebut dapat berfungsi sebagai anti tumor promotor, antioksidan, antimikroba, anti radang dan anti virus. Kurkumin pada kunyit juga berperan dalam meningkatkan sistem imunitas tubuh.
Pada beberapa penelitian di China menujukkan bahwa kunyit juga bisa mengobati penyakit katarak, luka hati, dan kerusakan yang diakibatkan oleh serangan jantung dan stroke. Serta kunyit juga efektif untuk  mencegah penyakit alzheimer.

Amandel

Deskripsi
Amandel merupakan infeksi (radang) tonsil yang disebabkan virus. Biasanya diderita anak usia 5-15 tahun. Berdasar lama terjangkiti, amandel dibedakan menjadi 2; amandel akut dan amandel kronis.
Dikategorikan amandel akut jika penyakit berlangsung kurang dari 3 minggu. Disebut amandel kronis jika terjadi 7 kali atau lebih dalam setahun, atau lima kali selama dua tahun, tiga kali setahun secara berturut-turut.

Gejala
Gejala-gejala amandel antara lain; penderita merasa tegorokan terasa kering, atau rasa mengganjal di tenggorokan (leher), nyeri saat menelan (nelan ludah ataupun makanan dan minuman) sehingga menjadi malas makan, nyeri dapat menjalar ke sekitar leher dan telinga.
Gejala lain berupa demam, sakit kepala, kadang menggigil, lemas, nyeri otot disertai batuk, pilek, suara serak, mulut berbau, mual, kadang nyeri perut, pembesaran kelenjar getah bening (kelenjar limfe) di sekitar leher. Terkadang penderita tonsilitis (kronis) mendengkur saat tidur (terutama jika disertai pembesaran kelenjar adenoid (kelenjar yang berada di dinding bagian belakang antara tenggorokan dan rongga hidung).
Gejala tersebut dapat diketahui jika si penderita melakukan pemeriksaan. Pada saat pemeriksaan, dijumpai pembesaran tonsil (amandel), berwarna merah, kadang dijumpai bercak putih (eksudat) pada permukaan tonsil, warna merah yang menandakan peradangan di sekitar tonsil dan tenggorokan.
Perlu diingat bahwa tidak semua keluhan dan tanda di atas diborong oleh satu orang penderita. Hal ini karena keluhan bersifat individual dan kebanyakan para orang tua atau penderita akan ke dokter ketika mengalami keluhan demam dan nyeri saat menelan.

Pengobatan
Dalam dunia medis sebenarnya tidak ada cara khusus mencegah amandel. Namun beberapa tips di bawah ini membantu untuk menghindarkan diri dari amandel, pertama, membiasakan cuci tangan sesering mungkin untuk mencegah penyebaran mikro-organisme yang dapat menimbulkan tonsilitis. Kedua, menghindari kontak dengan penderita infeksi tanggorokan, setidaknya hingga 24 jam setelah penderita infeksi tenggorokan (yang disebabkan kuman) mendapatkan antibiotika.

Diskripsi
Asam urat adalah sisa metabolisme zat purin yang berasal dari makanan yang dikonsumsi. Purin adalah zat yang terdapat pada tiap bahan makanan yang berasal dari tubuh makhluk hidup. Dengan kata lain, jika kita makan daging ayam yang terdapat purin di dalamnya, maka purin itu masuk ke dalam tubuh kita. Tidak hanya daging, sayuran dan buah-buahan juga mengandung purin.
Jika tubuh dalam keadaan normal, asam urat itu akan dikeluarkan tubu melalui kotoran atau urin. Namun karena ginjal tidak mampu mengeluarkan asam urat maka yang terjadi adalah kadar asam urat dalam tubuh berlebihan. Gejala umum dari asam urat antara lain; kesemutan dan linu, nyeri di malam atau pagi hari, sendi yang terkena asam urat bengkak berwarna kemerahan.

Pengobatan
Beberapa solusi yang bisa mencegah atau mengobati asam urat dapat dilakukan dengan; melakukan pengobatan (bagi yang sudah menderita asam urat), kontrol makanan yang dikonsumsi sehari-hari, perbanyak minum air putih. Air putih ini membantu membuang purin dalam tubuh.
Beberapa makanan yang mengandung banyak purin dan sebaiknya dihindari antara lain; jeroan, hati, ginjal, limpa, babgat, usus, paru dan otak, udang, kerang, cumi, kepiting, kornet, sarden, daging, telur, kuah kental, tempe, oncom, susu kedelai, bayam, kangkung, daun singkong, dan kembang kol. Selain itu minuman beralkohol. Makanan dan minuman tersebut sebaiknya dihindari.

Peneliti melakukan penelitian pada dua kelompok perempuan. Kelompok pertama diberi milkshake biasa. Sedangkan kelompok yang lain diberi milkshake berlabel 'lof fat' atau rendah lemak.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perempuan yang meminum milkshake berlabel rendah lemak, lebih sedikit melakukan aktifitas. Hal inilah yang dimaksud peneliti bahwa pikiran dapat mempengaruhi usaha diet seseorang.
Para perempuan berasumsi bahwa dengan mengkonsumsi minuman rendah lemak akan menurunkan berat badannya tanpa harus berolahraga secara keras. Padahal tak seperti itu seharusnya.
Studi lain di Jurnal Internasional mengatakan gangguan pola makan mencari hubungan antara otak dengan nafsu makan. Dan ditemukan bahwa sebagian orang memakan makanan yang manis saat merasa sedih.

Faktor Yang Bikin Jumlah Sperma Langsung Drop

Beberapa saat yang lalu, sebuah studi menemukan pria yang kebanyakan nonton TV berisiko punya sperma lebih sedikit. Padahal kenyataannya tidak seperti itu. Adabeberapa faktor lingkungan yang lebih berpengaruh terhadap jumlah sperma pria.

Faktanya, seperti dikutip dari Foxnews, Minggu (16/2/2014), ada beberapa faktor yang dapat memberikan dampak langsung terhadap tinggi rendahnya jumlah sperma, antara lain:
- Bahan kimia industri seperti benzena, herbisida, pestisida, dan bahan cat tertentu
- Logam berat, terutama timah
- Radiasi atau pancaran sinar X ke area pinggul
- Terpapar panas secara berlebihan, seperti sering sauna atau berendam air panas dan kebiasaan menaruh laptop di pangkuan. Ini akan membuat testikel Anda kepanasan dan mengurangi produksi sperma.

Easy to Use
Skype’s UI is very intuitive and easy to use. All the classic messaging service features like profiles, online status, contacts and recent history are displayed in the left navigation. For individual contacts you will see a text message box, chat history and calling options.
Call Quality
On fast internet connections Skype call quality is excellent for both voice and video calls. The hybrid peer-to-peer client server system means the sound quality is better than most VoIP services. That being said, if you do have a slower internet connection, voice calls may be interrupted or delayed. Video calls will be intermittent and pixelated. Text chat will only be affected by very poor connections. The call quality button will give you detailed information on the expected call quality for each of your contacts (as the quality depends on both parties internet connection).
